Founded in 1974, the Scottish Potters Association (SPA) is a members’ run
organisation aiming to promote all aspects of hand made pottery and ceramic sculpture
to anyone with an interest in the subject. Linking Scotland’s geographically
remote potters it offers an informal source of information and advice on everything
connected to clay.
The SPA is run by a committee of twelve elected members and a varied programme of
activities takes place throughout the year.
Positive benefits to members include:
• Access to annual residential weekend with national and international
guest demonstrators and lecturers
• Regular workshops held in members’ studios
• Illustrated quarterly newsletter with free advertising for members
• Annual members’ exhibition
• Printed map giving details of open studios and showrooms
